Entity grid_coarsening_modification

• This describes a grid modification in which many elements (usually cells or faces) of the target grid are being replaced by a fewer number of elements from the source grid.

                                          Defines the duration of the association expressed
                                          in any valid units of time.

   caused_by                              I       activity

                                          Specifies the activity which establishes this
                                          association. 

   terminated_by                          I       activity

                                          Specifies the activity which established the
                                          termination of a transient association between
                                          two objects.

                                          The element of the target grid that is the lower
                                          bound of the portion being modified. 

   ref_element_kind                       MI      ref_element_kind

                                          The kind of element being used to delimit the
                                          refined portion of the target grid. 

   second_element                         MI      ndt_pint4

                                          The element of the target grid that is the upper
                                          bound of the portion being modified. 

   target_grid                            MI      grid_structured

                                          Indicates the grid for which this modification
                                          is created to modify. 

   source_grid                            MI      grid_structured

                                          Indicates the grid that is being used as the
                                          modification to the target grid. The source grid
                                          replaces the portion of the target grid designated
                                          by this modification. 


coarse_element                            N       ndt_integer_element

                                          This is the description of the coarse (target)
                                          element for each fine  (source) element.  This
                                          designates the coarse element that each of the
                                          fine elements is consolidated into. More than
                                          one fine element should be  assigned to each coarse
                                          element.
