• A catalog or cross reference that identifies a specific regulation as being combined with or based upon an existing regulation.

                                          The description of the use for which a reference
                                          is made from one contract to the other.

                                          This is the regulation for which the reference
                                          is defined. This regulation uses the referenced
                                          regulation. For example, if regulation A1 states
                                          that regulation G2 must be honored, this points
                                          to regulation A1 as the regulation being defined
                                          by the reference. 

referenced_regulation                     MU      regulation

                                          This is the regulation that is used as a reference
                                          by another. Generally, this will be the preexisting
                                          regulation used to provide additional information
                                          to a subsequent regulation. For example, if regulation
                                          A1 states that regulation G2 must be honored,
                                          this points to regulation G2 as the preexisting
                                          regulation.
